Program Studi Sarjana Terapan Teknologi Veteriner (Tekvet) berdiri pertama kali pada 31 Juli 2019 berdasarkan SK BAN-PT Nomor 10172/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/ST/VIII/2021. Program Studi Sarjana Terapan Teknologi Veteriner, Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada menghasilkan Sarjana Terapan bidang teknologi veteriner (veterinary technologist) yang memiliki kompetensi tersertifikasi dalam menerapkan aplikasi ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi (IPTEK) veteriner terapan meliputi kesejahteraan hewan (kesrawan), kesehatan masyarakat veteriner (kesmavet), dan bioteknologi dalam rangka mewujudkan keamanan dan ketahanan pangan asal hewan yang aman, sehat, utuh dan halal (ASUH). Lulusan Program Studi Sarjana Terapan Teknologi Veteriner adalah seorang veterinary technologist yang memiliki kompetensi analisis hasil pengujian, supervisi dan manajerial, kendali mutu, dan inovasi teknologi bidang veteriner.
The Applied Undergraduate Study Program in Veterinary Technology (Tekvet) was established on July 31, 2019, based on the Decree of BAN-PT Number 10172/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/ST/VIII/2021. Offered by the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada, the program produces applied bachelor’s graduates in veterinary technology (veterinary technologists) with certified competencies in the application of applied veterinary science and technology, including animal welfare (kesrawan), veterinary public health (kesmavet), and biotechnology. The program aims to support the safety and security of animal-based food that is safe, healthy, intact, and halal (ASUH). Graduates of the Applied Undergraduate Study Program in Veterinary Technology are equipped with competencies in analyzing test results, supervision and management, quality control, and technological innovation in the veterinary field.
