Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship


As one of Indonesia’s leading universities, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is proud to participate in the Beasiswa Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (Developing Country Partnership Scholarship), widely known as the KNB Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship is offered by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to outstanding students from developing countries who aspire to pursue higher education in Indonesia.

Through the KNB Scholarship, eligible international applicants may undertake Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral studies at UGM. Since its establishment in 2008, the program has supported more than 1,290 awardees from 94 countries, contributing to a vibrant and diverse academic community on UGM’s campus.

Darmasiswa Indonesian Scholarship


The Darmasiswa Scholarship Program, offered by Indonesia’s Ministry of Education and Culture, invites international students from countries with diplomatic ties to Indonesia to immerse themselves in the nation’s rich language and culture. 

Since its launch in 1972, the program has grown from an ASEAN initiative to a global opportunity, welcoming participants from over 135 countries. Awardees spend one year at an Indonesian university, exploring the Indonesian language, arts, and cultural heritage while building lasting connections across borders.

To date, more than 9,000 students have joined the program, studying at 72 universities across Indonesia

Gadjah Mada International Fellowship (GMIF)


The Gadjah Mada International Fellowship (GMIF) supports exceptional international students in pursuing Master’s and Doctoral degrees at UGM. With a focus on candidates from ASEAN (excluding Indonesia) and Global South countries, GMIF empowers future leaders to advance their knowledge and contribute to development in their home nations. Awardees gain world-class education while joining a global network of innovators committed to positive change.

The Indonesian AID Scholarship (TIAS)


The Indonesian AID Scholarship (TIAS) is a grant program initiated by the Government of Indonesia to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the education sector. Inspired by the spirit of the Asia–Africa Summit, TIAS is designed to develop the skills and expertise of future leaders from Indonesia’s priority partner countries. It also serves as a form of soft diplomacy, strengthening cooperation and friendship through human resource development.

TIAS provides opportunities to civil servants, government officers, and individuals officially nominated by their respective governments to pursue diploma (including professional education), bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs.

Awardees gain world-class academic experiences at leading universities while immersing themselves in Indonesia’s vibrant multicultural environment.
