Magister Ilmu Kedokteran Tropis / Master in Tropical Medicine

Program Studi Magister Ilmu Kedokteran Tropis FKKMK UGM adalah program pendidikan pascasarjana yang dirancang untuk menghasilkan lulusan yang ahli di bidang penyakit dan infeksi tropis serta mampu melakukan penelitian, manajemen, dan analisis kesehatan di wilayah tropis. Program ini telah meraih predikat akreditasi “Unggul” dari LAM-PTKes yang memberikan keahlian spesifik dan komprehensif yang disusun dalam kurikulum berbasis kompetensi. Program ini menawarkan tiga konsentrasi utama yang saling menunjang prospek karier di masa depan, yaitu Penyakit Infeksi Tropis yang berfokus pada aspek klinis, diagnostik, dan tata laksana langsung pada pasien, yang kedua adalah konsentrasi Imunologi dan Biologi Molekuler Penyakit Tropis, yang mendalami mekanisme basic science di laboratorium, respons imun, serta pengembangan diagnostik molekuler dan vaksin, serta konsentrasi yang ketiga adalah Entomologi Kesehatan, yang secara khusus mempelajari biologi, ekologi, serta strategi pengendalian serangga (vektor) yang menjadi perantara penularan penyakit.

The Master’s Program in Tropical Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada, is a postgraduate program designed to produce graduates with advanced expertise in tropical diseases and infections, as well as the capacity to conduct research, management, and health analysis in tropical regions. The program has been awarded the highest accreditation status, “Unggul (Excellent)”, by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes), and offers specialized and comprehensive competencies structured within a competency-based curriculum. The program offers three main concentrations that support diverse future career pathways. The first concentration, Tropical Infectious Diseases, focuses on clinical aspects, diagnostics, and direct patient management. The second concentration, Immunology and Molecular Biology of Tropical Diseases, emphasizes basic science mechanisms studied in laboratory settings, immune responses, and the development of molecular diagnostics and vaccines. The third concentration, Health Entomology, specifically examines the biology and ecology of insect vectors, as well as strategies for controlling disease transmission.
