Magister Ilmu Kedokteran Gigi / Master in Dental Science

Program Studi Magister Ilmu Kedokteran Gigi, Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi, Universitas Gadjah Mada (IKG FKG UGM) merupakan Program Studi jenjang Magister yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan lulusan bergelar Master of Dental Science (MDSc.) yang memiliki kompetensi handal, serta dapat berperan serta secara aktif dalam pengembangan ilmu kedokteran gigi di tingkat nasional maupun internasional serta mampu mengaplikasikan keilmuan yang dimilikinya di tengah masyarakat. Prodi Magister IKG FKG UGM terdiri atas empat peminatan, yaitu Biomaterial, Biologi Oral dan Imunologi, Kedokteran Gigi Pencegahan dan Promosi Kesehatan, serta Manajemen Pelayanan Kesehatan Gigi. Proses pembelajaran pada Prodi Magister IKG terdiri atas 4 semester terdiri atas pembelajaran Mata Kuliah Dasar Umum (MKDU), Mata Kuliah Keahlian (MKK) dan Mata Kuliah Pilihan (MKP), sedangkan semester 3 dan 4 dialokasikan untuk penyelesaian penulisan Tesis. Prodi Magister IKG FKG UGM telah mengalami proses perkembangan berdasarkan kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi maupun kebutuhan pasar dunia kesehatan khususnya kesehatan gigi dan mulut.

The Master’s Program in Dental Science at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (IKG FKG UGM), is a graduate-level program designed to produce graduates awarded the degree Master of Dental Science (MDSc.) who possess strong professional competencies. Graduates are expected to actively contribute to the development of dental science at both national and international levels and to apply their expertise effectively within the community. The Master’s Program in Dental Science at FKG UGM offers four areas of specialization: Biomaterials; Oral Biology and Immunology; Preventive Dentistry and Health Promotion; and Dental Health Services Management. The learning process is structured over four semesters, consisting of General Core Courses, Specialized Courses, and Elective Courses. The third and fourth semesters are primarily allocated to the completion of the master’s thesis. The program has continuously evolved in response to advances in science and technology as well as to the changing demands of the global health sector, particularly in the field of oral and dental health.
