Magister Kimia / Master in Chemistry

Program Studi Magister Kimia adalah pendidikan berorientasi akademik yang didirikan pada tahun 1981. Lulusan program Master Kimia menerima gelar M.Sc. Gelar (Magister Sains). Kegiatan akademik di Program Studi Magister Kimia, Departemen Kimia, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam UGM, difokuskan pada peningkatan penguasaan kimia, baik teoritis maupun eksperimental berdasarkan 5 minat studi. Secara akademik, pada 1981-1985 Program Studi mengelola satu minat studi, yaitu minat studi kimia. Dengan perkembangan kemampuan internal (sumber daya manusia, fasilitas dan infrastruktur) dan semakin banyaknya calon siswa yang tertarik untuk menghadiri pendidikan yang lebih spesifik dan tuntutan pasar tenaga kerja, jenis minat studi dalam program studi ini berkembang menjadi lima minat studi, yaitu: Anorganik Kimia, Kimia Fisik, Kimia Organik, Kimia Analitik, dan Kimia Lingkungan. Kelima minat studi memberikan variasi dan kekhususan untuk hasil Tesis dan kompetensi lulusan Program Magister Kimia. Tujuan dari hasil pembelajaran di Program Studi Magister Kimia adalah untuk memberikan peluang bagi siswa untuk memiliki kompetensi dalam hal pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan keterampilan di bidang kimia di tingkat Magister, serta kualitas dan atribut yang diperlukan lainnya.

The Master’s Program in Chemistry is an academically oriented graduate program that was established in 1981. Graduates of the program are awarded the degree Master of Science (M.Sc.). Academic activities within the Master’s Program in Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, are focused on strengthening mastery of chemistry at both theoretical and experimental levels through five areas of specialization. Academically, during the period from 1981 to 1985, the program offered a single area of study, namely general chemistry. With the subsequent development of internal capacity in terms of human resources, facilities, and infrastructure, as well as increasing demand from prospective students for more specialized training and evolving labor market requirements, the program expanded to offer five areas of specialization: Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Environmental Chemistry. These five specializations provide both diversity and depth for thesis research and for the development of graduate competencies in the Master’s Program in Chemistry. The intended learning outcomes of the Master’s Program in Chemistry are to provide students with advanced competencies in chemical knowledge, conceptual understanding, and practical skills at the master’s level, as well as other essential professional attributes required for academic and professional advancement.
