Pendirian prodi ini bertujuan untuk membangun kemampuan kritis dan kreatif bagi para mahasiswa agar nantinya dapat mengembangkan karir di bidang komunikasi dan media, serta dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pembangunan masyarakat di lingkungannya. Prodi S1 Ilmu Komunikasi merespon perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, yang disadari telah mengubah cara-cara manusia berkomunikasi serta tatanan industri media, dengan melakukan evaluasi dan pembenahan kurikulum pengajaran agar memiliki relevansi<\/p>\n<p>Prodi S1 Ilmu Komunikasi memiliki tujuan Pendidikan sebagai berikut:\u00a0<b>(1)<\/b>\u00a0memperkuat basis kapasitas keilmuan dan praktis mahasiswa Departemen Ilmu Komunikasi dalam merespon kebutuhan aktual bidang-bidang profesi ilmu komunikasi di Indonesia,\u00a0<b>(2)<\/b>\u00a0merespon perkembangan ilmu yang berkembang di dalam bidang ilmu komunikasi, baik yang berbasis keilmuan maupun praktis, dan\u00a0<b>(3)<\/b>\u00a0mendorong terwujudnya masyarakat Indonesia yang informatif dan literatif.<\/p>\n<p>Pada perkembangannya, keilmuan komunikasi dan media terus bertransformasi seiring perubahan kondisi dan karakteristik kehidupan masyarakat dan lanskap industri.
