Program Studi S1 Ilmu Komputer UGM memiliki fokus studi pada bidang Kecerdasan Artifisial (AI), Pengembangan Software Komputer dan Mobile, Jaringan Komputer dan Keamanan Informasi, dan Penciptaan Algoritma untuk memecahkan masalah-masalah di dunia nyata. Program studi ini dirancang dengan durasi studi 4 tahun dan memiliki akreditasi Unggul dari LAM INFOKOM dan terakreditasi internasional ASIIN. Selain kegiatan perkuliahan, mahasiswa juga berkesempatan untuk praktik nyata, berorganisasi di organisasi kemahasiswaan, yaitu Himakom dan OmahTI, serta melakukan riset dengan dosen-dosen yang bertaraf internasional. Selain itu, mahasiswa juga memiliki kesempatan mengikuti berbagai lomba nasional dan internasional, magang di perusahaan IT mitra, serta mengikuti pertukaran mahasiswa ke berbagai universitas mitra di luar negeri. Program Studi S1 Ilmu Komputer juga memberikan kesempatan ke mahasiswa untuk memperoleh dua gelar sarjana dari UGM dan universitas mitra di luar negeri, serta mengikuti program fast track (S1 dan S2 Ilmu Komputer, UGM, dalam 5 tahun). Program Studi S1 Ilmu Komputer memiliki dua kelas yaitu kelas reguler dan internasional (IUP).
